The Alexandrine parrot is a larger version of both the Indian and African Ringneck. All Alexandrine parrots exhibit the classic ringneck look– dark green bodies, long tails, red beaks, and yellow eyes. The only major difference visible from their cousins is their maroon patched wings and larger bills.

Tame, handfed Alexandrine parakeets can make loving and affectionate pets, although they tend to become “one-person” birds. They strongly bond to a favorite family member while shunning others within the household. These birds are brilliant and are known to be excellent talkers, making them very popular pets

Ideally, the minimum cage size for this bird would be 30″ long, 22″ wide, 63″ high with 3/4″ wire spacing.
